Dr. Donna Parker is the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, Dawn-Marie and Yana. She is also a  pediatrician at UF/Shands Pediatrics at Tower Square and is the Associate Dean for Diversity and Health Equity at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Dr. Parker was born in Jamaica where she attended High School. She immigrated to the United States to attend college and received her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Florida International University in 1986. She came to Gainesville in 1986 where she studied at the University of Florida College of Medicine and earned her M.D. degree in 1990. She then completed her residency in Pediatrics at UF Health.

For five years she worked at the Alachua County Health Department as a Pediatrician, then returned to the University of Florida in her current positions.

She is motivated by the ever increasing needs of minority children, adolescents and young adults for healthcare, education, nurturing and mentoring, in addition to her passion and dedication to serve the underrepresented and rural populations, and is at the fore front of advocating for, and raising awareness in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion here at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

She receives support from her family, close friends, colleagues and co-workers.
